NO OFF SEASON FOR MAPLE SYRUP

(BERNARD & FILS INDUSTRIES IN PRODUCTION YEAR-ROUND)

It is normal for the public in general to think that companies in the maple syrup industry are busy for only a few months a year during the « sugar season ».
However, the reality of maple syrup producers is quite different.
At ” Les Industries Bernard & Fils “, for example, we have work 12 months a year for our hundred or so employees in our different departments.
The growth of our market and the year-round craze for maple syrup mean that we bottle in large quantities every month of the year.

A 365-DAY SUGAR SEASON

Every year, spring brings back the maple syrup harvest period in Quebec. But for our family business, this period is only one step in our overall activities.
We have developed a client base in around 40 countries, around the world, whose needs we know year after year. This allows us to have the necessary quantities of the “sweet nectar” to meet all demands.
Some of them will order a year in advance which helps us in our ‘inventory’ accounting.
In addition, we have been able to adjust to the growing demand since these customers have discovered the usefulness of our product to replace other sugars.
It is the concept of « sweet less but sweet better » that is spreading across the globe.

ANTICIPATE THE UNPREDICTABLE

In our assessment of the quantities needed to go through a year we always include a percentage to meet unexpected needs.
Our current and long-time customers are at the top of the list for this product reserve.
We also take into account the needs of our product development department and unanticipated promotions.

The experience passed down from generation to generation helps us manage all facets of our business, including supply.
It also helps us in the development of our markets as well as in the recommendations made to our customers to promote the sales of maple syrup.
