Make a well in the center of the flour, add beaten egg.
Add half the milk slowly, stirring all the time. Stir in the melted butter and whisk until smooth.
Add the rest of the milk and let stand for 1 hour before making the pancakes. Pour small amount of batter into a skillet and brown both sides until golden. Garnish with a dab of butter and a generous helping of 100% pure maple syrup or organic syrup.
